Open Every Reward Chest You Can
The first rule is simple: never leave a completed room without opening its reward chest. It sounds obvious, but it is easy to get distracted by the next room, especially when the run starts feeling easy.
Before moving forward, quickly check your inventory and the reward type. If the chest gives something useful for your current upgrade path, take it immediately. You do not need to wait until the end of the trial to collect everything.
This also makes shorter runs more efficient. If your character is not ready for deep Trial of Chaos content, completing a smaller number of rooms safely can still provide useful rewards without risking a full failed run.
Choose Rooms Based on Your Goal

Build speed matters too. Characters with strong movement skills, reliable area damage and good defenses can afford to take more aggressive options. Slower builds should be more selective.
The same rule applies to Wager modifiers. They can increase the potential value of a run, but they also increase the risk. Use them when your build comfortably handles the added pressure, not simply because the reward looks attractive.
Know When to Stop
One of the best Trial of Chaos habits is knowing when enough is enough.
If your character has started taking heavy damage, your clear speed has dropped sharply, or the next room introduces a modifier your build handles badly, stopping can be the correct decision. You can leave the trial and continue later rather than forcing a risky push.
Think about the value of your time as well. A ten-minute successful run is better than a twenty-minute attempt that ends with a death and no meaningful progress.
A Simple Farming Routine
For most players, the easiest approach is to start with safe rooms, open every reward chest, and gradually increase the difficulty as the character becomes stronger. Currency-focused players should prioritize speed and consistency, while Soul Core hunters can push deeper once their defenses and damage are ready.
The important part is not opening the maximum number of rooms every time. It is making sure that every room you enter has a purpose.
That mindset turns Trial of Chaos from a gamble into a repeatable farming method, helping you get more useful rewards without wasting time on rooms your character is not ready to handle.
